Are your students excited about reading, writing and art? Richard Hilliard, author and illustrator of the books, Neil, Buzz and Mike Go to the Moon, Godspeed, John Glenn, Ham, the Astrochimp and Lucky 13: Survival in Space uses a dynamic multimedia presentation to capture students' attention and imagination. His engaging, high-energy style is ideal for both the average and above average reader, drawing them into a world of wonder and discovery.
With over 20 years experience as an illustrator and graphic designer, Rich shows how books, films and comics have shaped his career and prepared him for a new venture writing and illustrating non-fiction children’s books. One of the most unique aspects of Rich’s school visits is his ability to get his students excited about research projects. Drawing from his experiences, he demonstrates how museum trips, building scale models and watching movies has helped him show young readers historical events in a compelling and exciting way.

Appropriate for both small classroom settings as well as large auditoriums, this presentation can be tailored for any size group. A typical school visit includes one or two 45 minute performances in the morning, followed by a book signing and Q&A session in the afternoon. Content and length can be modified according to the individual school or orgnization’s needs.
